UNITY IS STRENGTH

Unity is Strength
MULATAKU NDI'NGINYA

Proudly Bafaw
Nestled in the Southwestern region of Cameroon, the Bafaw people, a warrior tribe descended of the Bantu migration across Africa, reside in a rich and diverse area blessed with scenic views, lush fertile land, and a multitude of creatures. Known for their strong cultural traditions and resilience, the Bafaw proudly call themselves the “star tribe” or the “tribe from the stars.”
The Bafaw Cultural and Development Association (BAFCUDA) USA, a charitable organization comprising the Bafaw diaspora, carries on the legacy of their ancestors. Guided by their mantra, “Mulataku Ndi’Nginya,” which translates to “Unity is Strength,” the organization welcomes others to share and preserve the unique traditions of the Bafaw people. Through these efforts, they strive to build a better community for those in need.

PRESIDENT / CEO OF BAFCUDA USA
Vennessa Ebote Sona
Vennessa Ebote Sona is the passionate and visionary President/CEO of BAFCUDA USA, a driving force behind the organization's mission to preserve and promote Bafaw culture. As a registered nurse and case manager, Vennessa's dedication to improving lives extends beyond healthcare. Her deep fascination with cultures, particularly the Bafaw heritage, led her to produce a documentary on the Bafaw tradition of childbirth (“Linyangi”) while living in Cameroon. As one of the ten founding members of BAFCUDA USA, Vennessa has tirelessly worked to put Bafaw on the global map. Her leadership as president of BAFCUDA Greater Washington was instrumental in the release of the "Proudly Bafaw" and the "As we know..." booklets, a testament to her commitment to preserving Bafaw culture for generations to come.
