Reunite, Recharge, and Celebrate Bafaw Heritage
"Mbum" is a Lifo (the Bafaw dialect) word meaning "gathering." It is a time-honored tradition for the Bafaw people, dating back to their earliest days. The first Mbum took place in old Kokobuma, the first settled village after the Bafaw migrated from Mbo land. Before embarking on another significant journey to find more land, they gathered, united, and drew strength from one another, embodying the Bafaw mantra of "mulataku ndi'nginya" (unity is strength). Following this ancient tradition, BAFCUDA USA hosts an annual Mbum, a gathering where Bafaw people from around the world can come together, reconnect, and celebrate their shared heritage. This year marks the 14th annual Mbum, and we are thrilled to host it in Dallas, Texas.
